I have a very wide staircase that I need to block off from my toddler. Does anyone know of a mega adjustable safety gate?

Apparently goes to 3.15 metres! Haven't committed to buying yet tho so can't give any feedback

Choosing a baby gate is an important decision. The wrong kind of gate in the wrong place can have disastrous results. I found this Extra Safety Features: Safety Light . Some baby gates have extra features, such as the Safety 1st Smart Light Stair Gate, which has a motion-activated safety light that turns on when it detects someone is near, to illuminate the stairway. This is a helpful feature if it is needed in the stairway, but not necessary for areas that have adequate lighting.

Can't remember the brand - but I found a few different types in Target. From memory maximum width was about 130 to 150cm. They also had gate extensions. Strength wise they seem to fine - certainly our 20month can't push 'em over.
Alternatively - if you have the time and the inclination it's pretty easy to make a set of gates yourself. Did this for our stairs with parts bought at Bunnings. So it matches the decor much better than a set of shop-bought ones. Can't say it's cheaper but strenght wise these things can stand up to the gates of hell!
