At what age to babies grow out of using sleeping bags?
I was wondering if I should 'wean' my baby out of sleeping bags now that he is 12 months old. Any suggestions?
"My son has been in sleeping bags since he was 6mths old and he is now 17mths. He loves it and it signals sleep time (as opposed to a quick nap). He wriggles so much...he would kick covers off. I will keep him in sleeping bags until we move him to a bed at some point after his 2nd birthday."
My daughter is nealy 10 months and I agree with the same as Mands, I'll be keeping her in a sleepingbag until she's in a big bed.
My two nieces both wore sleeping bags as they would never sleep with their arms wrapped in right from birth. They wriggled and fidgetted until they could move their arms. The first baby photo - taken in the hospital - the eldest one was asleep and her hands were up level with the top of her head. Her Dad called the photo "I surrender". They buttoned up. When the last baby grew out of them, we removed the bottom piece, re-hemmed them, and converted them to dressing gowns for use at the Grandparent's place. They were both winter babies and lived in a cold area.
