Here's a number every new & soon-to-be parent needs to jot down now and stick on the fridge. It's the new Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline and it's here for you 24/7.

I think us parents are a pretty smart lot. Most of the time we are on top of it all when it comes to caring for our babies. But every so often we need a little bit of help, information, assistance or just a bit of reassurance that we are on the right track.

The new federal government's Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline is your one stop shop when it comes to everything from pre-pregnancy to babies aged up to 12 months. They have professionals on hand 24 hours a day to help you with any pregnancy or baby related enquiry (including health & development) or can refer you to the experts if needed.

Informed decision making is the objective of the Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline so no question is too big or too small for the them. Unlike other professionals, the staff of the Helpline are paid to be bothered by you and they are not going to be too busy to help you out so don't hesitate.

I can think of a few circumstances when I would have loved to be able to call the Helpline.
