Maclaren to recall over 1 million strollers
Hot off the press. Maclaren is just about to announce a voluntary recall of all its strollers sold in the US since 1999. That's over 1 million single and double strollers recalled.
The problem is that two hinges on either side of the pram are hazardous to little fingers and represent a laceration or amputation risk. Youch!
The solution is simple (and begs the question as to why it took so long to address), two hinge covers for either side of the pram will be provided free to all Maclaren owners.
There's no news yet on what arrangements will be made for Aussie Maclaren owners but I'd expect an Aussie announcement to be made very soon.
In the meantime you should at least be cautious when opening and closing your Maclaren pram around youngsters or use another pram if you have that option available.
We'll let you know when further news is available.
