Will the toilet talk ever stop?

Book review - Poo Bum by Stephanie Blake

If your child has not turned 4 yet then you've got something to look forward to. Poo! Yep, once they hit 4 that's all they want to say. Poo, wee, bum, fart, if it's to do with the toilet they are going to say it - in public! Stephanie Blake tackles the this sticky subject for kids in her book, Poo Bum.

Poo Bum has been tickling the fancy of the French for ages now and finally it's available in English.

Poo Bum's hero is the little rabbit. Whenever little rabbit's family talk to him his reply is always rude. Then little rabbit meets a wolf. Maybe a rude reply is not appropriate? Will little rabbit's rude responses make him more fun to have for dinner than have as a friend?

What I like about Stephanie's book is that it tackles the toilet talk in the right way. Kids are always going to want to say words that make them feel like rebels, irrespective of whether they are 4, 14 or 24. The lesson of Poo Bum is about making good judgement calls about when it's not sensible to use some language.

But then again some little rabbits never learn!

For a good laugh you can find Poo Bum at your local book store or online for around about $17.
