Design and Features
Anton Can Do Magic is written and illustrated by Ole Konnecke. It comes in a landscape A4 size in hard and soft copy.
Its best audience is anyone 2 to 5 and mums ‘n’ dads.
Performance and Drawbacks
Anton has a magic hat and it gives him magic powers, or does it? What happens when Anton ‘magics’ away something he shouldn’t? Does it end in disaster or does his power save the day?
Anton Can Do Magic reminds me of old fashioned pantomime, where the character can't see what's going on but the audience does. This makes it lots of fun for younger children who can see what Anton can’t.
It’s a simple story line that’s easy for younger children to follow and relate to. Anton Can Do Magic is well illustrated with one picture per page which is great for smaller readers.
Conclusion
Anton Can Do Magic is lots of fun and a must have for every child’s library. It’s a great one for older children to read to younger ones.
It’s available online and in your local bookstore.
