Design and Features

When I first saw the Baby and All Bag I was quite disappointed, it looked a bit boring and black and all together too polyester, but then I figured how it worked and the penny dropped. This is really a very clever and simple design.

Basically it has a T shaped flap which you clip onto the shoulder strap; this forms the base of the carrier. The bag flap then lifts up and connects to the shoulder strap to support your baby’s back. On the back of the bag flap there is a little strip of fabric you pull to create a pouch type effect.

You can wear it as a hip or front carrier and the shoulder strap splits into two to better distribute the weight across your shoulders.

It’s made from a polyester shell with a cotton lining and has plenty of internal and external pockets for you and your baby’s treasure. It comes with a small but functional baby change mat.

Performance and Drawbacks

The Baby and All Bag is really easy to convert to baby carrier mode and is suitable for babies weighing between 7 – 15 kgs so it’s useful for a good year or two per baby.

The polyester does have its advantages; it’s easy to keep clean and you can pop the bag in the wash and it dries quickly. It’s also really lightweight making it ideal for travelling.

There are so many circumstances when the carrier function might come in handy that the Baby and All Baby would be my number one pick for a baby bag if it was a tad on the prettier side (read beautiful cotton print). However, it does make a great dad's bag/carrier.

It's very light and ideal for travelling, especially for lugging a tired toddler about at the airport.

It is only designed to carry your baby for up to one hour so it’s no substitute for more structured and heavily padded baby carrier. You can't reach your goodies while your baby is in the carrier; however there are several external pockets you can reach into including a mobile phone pocket.

Be kind to your body, you wouldn’t be wanting to pile the bag up with your necessities and then carry your baby in addition to that.

Conclusion

As a nappy bag the Baby and All Bag is functional but it leaves me a bit cold in the good looking accessory department. Convert it into a baby carrier though and it opens up a whole new transport option to the mum and dad of the tired toddler.

It’s available exclusively online at babydaze. You can also check out the video which shows the Baby and All Bag in action.
