Design and Features
You’d be forgiven for expecting the Baby Sticky Bowl to be an actual bowl, but it’s not. It’s a two sided suction cup. One size is larger than the other to accommodate different sized bowls and it has two little knobs for easy removal.
It’s made from silicone, is dishwasher safe and comes in a pale blue colour.
Performance and Drawbacks
This little suction cup sticks to everything. I literally walked around my house and stuck it to every surface I could find, granite, plastic, wood, stainless steel, tile, lino and glass; no problems.
Then I went to the cupboard and tried every type of bowl and plate and voila, everyone stuck. Even the tiny bowls that were smaller than the Sticky Bowls surface and my favourite IKEA bowls which have a squarish bottom.
It comes off easy enough to make it handy for you but not so easy that a crafty toddler could figure it out. It is pretty strong so should outlast baby and toddlerhood.
On some surfaces it did slip around a bit and my IKEA bowl did not stick every time but I found that if I ‘restuck’, it was firmer.
Conclusion
When my little guy took his Take and Toss bowls literally, I tried some suction bowls and they were a bit lame. This Baby Sticky Bowl, however, is quite effective and you can use it to save the precious Bunnikins for the next baby or even the next generation.
If only they made one big enough for a baby bottom, imagine the fun you could have.
