Design and Features
The Babymoov Bebedelice is a kitchen appliance designed to undertake every task associated with feeding your baby including sterilising & warming bottles and steaming & blending dinner.
It's primarily made from BPA-free heavy duty plastic and features a warmer, steamer & blender function. It comes in red & white.
Performance and Drawbacks
Each side of the Babymoov Bebedelice undertakes a distinct function. One side sterilises, defrosts, warms and steams, the other side has a little pulsating blender. It's nifty to sterilise and warm bottles but the Bebedelice's real value is in its baby food making capability.
The Bebedelice is very easy to use to sterilise; add a little measure of water to the steamer side, pop in your bottle, put the Bebedelice on the highest setting and your bottle is sterilised in a few minutes. Fill your bottle with milk and pop it back in on the lower setting and your bottle is ready in a few minutes. The Bebedelice will turn itself off when it reaches the right temperature.
For steaming food the Bebedelice comes with a little basket which you can fill with fruit, vegies, meat and/or fish. In approximately 11 minutes you'll have your baby's meal ready to blend. Just pop your cooked ingredients into the blender cup and pulse to a smooth or chunky texture depending on your baby's preference. Finally a little basket collects the nutritious juices from your cooking and you can add these back into your baby food.
The Bebedelice has some smart features which make making meals easier. The blades of the blender are in the lid to make filling the cup and measuring ingredients easier. You can replace the lid with the blades with a standard lid and the cup becomes a food storage unit ready for the fridge.
Also, the Bebedelice only has 4 settings for ease of use and automatically turns itself off when it reaches the desired temperature. Finally, the Bebedelice has a little drawer built in so you can keep all the little fiddly bits close to hand.
Talking about fiddly bits it does have a few, so you want to keep these together as you wouldn't want to lose them.
The Bebedelice is great quality, the same you'd expect from a quality appliance. The components can be washed in the top shelf of your dishwasher.
The Bebedelice is just the right size. It doesn't take up too much room on your bench top and you'll get a couple of good sized meals for your effort depending on how much your baby is eating.
The Bebedelice doesn't do anything more than you could with standard pots and pans. What it does offer is the ease and convenience that a specifically designed product can. Of course you have to pay for that convenience but I suspect Babymoov would suggest you save by preparing your own food and, of course, home made baby food is fresher tastier and you can control the ingredients.
The proof is always in the pudding so we've sent off our Bebedelice to a family who can put it through its paces, we'll let you know how it performs under the pressure of real family life.
Conclusion
There are cheaper options for making baby food, however, if you are happy to pay for the convenience of a gadget that can do it all the Babymoov Bebedelice is a nice quality, compact and well designed option.
If you're looking for a present option for new parents the Bebedelice is a great choice.
