Design and Features

The Drieyes is visor shaped barrier which your child holds against their head to prevent shampoo getting in their eyes. It's an unusual design with plastic 'eyeballs' one either side for grip.

It is made from a plastic body with a silicone rim to create a water proof barrier. It comes in orange, pink, green, blue and yellow.

Performance and Drawbacks

The performance of the Drieyes really depends on the ability of your child to use it. If they feel confident and comfortable it allows them to sit up in the bath without having to tilt back their head for rinsing and freeing up both of your hands.

If they can't or don't want to use it, it's back to square one.

From a design perspective it's well considered, I like it that you can use the 'eyes' to hang the Drieyes from the tub. It's a well-made product and should last the use of at least several children.

It’s a good idea for any child when you need to wash with nasties like lice-killing shampoo or if you need to keep water out of your child's ears but it’s not suitable for use by under-threes.

Just because it looks like a visor, don't make the same mistake I made in thinking that it works like a visor. The silicone seal goes around your face rather than your head. This makes the Drieyes suitable for use by children of all ages (over three) and adults.

Conclusion

There are a few options on the market you can consider for this problem, some which are better suited to smaller children and toddlers.

However the Drieyes is a unique design and offers a different approach for older children, which may just entice them to use it.
