Design and Features

The Feedaway is a portable cardboard feeding chair suitable for babies from 6 months to 20 months.

It's made from recycled Visy cardboard, is coated in a non toxic food grade coating and comes flat packed for easy transportation.

It features a three point harness, little tray and a postcard junior can customise and send to a friend. It comes in a pretty tulip print in natural cardboard brown with red print, white with red print & white with blue print.

Performance and Drawbacks

The Feedaway comes with simple instructions and will take about 15 minutes to put together the first time. You will also need a large flat surface so you can spread it out.

It’s strong and sturdy, you can use it for a baby up to 20kgs and the chair is flared out at the back to ensure it can’t be tipped over by vigorous rocking.

For your baby it’s quite throne like, I can’t imagine cardboard is as comfy as a cushioned highchair but our little product tester seems to be pretty happy to climb up and sit in it King of the Castle fashion.

It’s easy to clean with a damp cloth and is best used from new to ready for disposal in one go. I wouldn't suggest putting it away for too long a period of time if it received spaghetti fingerprinting or similar even if it is still structurally sound.

The Feedaway comes in its own carry box with handles which makes it easy to transport and store. It does say it can fit in a large suitcase, I think it would have to be a very large suitcase but it is easy to unbox if you needed that little bit of extra space.

The Feedaway’s environmental credentials are impressive. It's primarily made from recycled Visy cardboard in Australia. The chair and accessories are cut from single sheet of board to minimise waste and it’s coated in a non-toxic food grade coating for longevity. When you are finished with the chair you can toss it into your recycling and it can continue its life as something else.

As far as drawbacks are concerned, the only thing that might be an issue is that the tray is on the smaller side, one of the necessities of having a portable, compact product.

Conclusion

The Feedaway represents lots of things that I love about good design. It’s useful, safe, smart, environmentally friendly and soft on the budget. It’s a truly disposable product in the very best way.

Hopefully the Feedaway will soon be available in every major destination you might take your child. In the meantime you can find your closest stockist on the Belkiz webpage.
