Design and Features
Consistent with Fisher-Price's Ocean Wonders series, these baby swings look twee and fiddly, however, babies love the bright colours and flashing lights.
The Aquarium Take-along swing is a bit more upmarket than its cousin bouncer with 8 speeds on the swing, 6 types of music, volume control (thank goodness), and a tall handle for portability.
Performance and Drawbacks
The seat is deep and comfortable and it's great to have somewhere to put your newborn that is off the floor and safe. The rocking motion will sooth your baby and the dangley fish and lights will keep them entertained.
The various toys and functions cover every stage of your baby’s day from play time, to quite time to sleeping and as your baby grows they find different features and entertainment for themselves.
The seat pad is washable and the whole swing folds into a compact shape for travel.
The downside of these bouncers is that they chew through the batteries and they are unsuitable for babies once they can sit up in the seat. The rocking motion also makes a sound but it's not noisy enough to irritate or keep your baby awake.
Conclusion
After we had gotten over the design horror of the Fisher-Price bouncer and realised how much the little guy loved it we moved onto one of these swings which turned out to be equally as popular and useful.
Because of their limited life span you can often buy these quite cheaply second hand and in good condition. Check out eBay and your local classifieds.
