Design and Features
When I had my little boy my sister proudly presented me with one of these Fisher Price Rainforest Bouncers and I took one look at it and silently cried 'please Lord nooooooo ... this can't be my design future'.
These bouncers look so twee and fiddly with their flouncy designed fabric and garish lights. But as they get older your baby will grow to love the bright colours, trickley and twirly things.
Performance and Drawbacks
The seat is nice and comfy and it's great to have somewhere to put your newborn that is off the floor and safe. The flashing lights were an immediate hit and I don't know how I ever would have survived without the 'vibrating motions'.
The various toys and functions cover every stage of your baby’s day from play time, to quite time to sleeping and as your baby grows they find different features and entertainments for themselves.
The downside of these bouncers is that they chew through the batteries and they are heavy to lug around.
Also, the music and sounds can get to you after a while, there’s only so much trickling water you can listen to before the bathroom beckons.
Conclusion
After its disastrous introduction into my household this bouncer quickly earnt our respect and it wasn't long before we had two.
It was particularly great for showers as it would keep my little guy happy through a decent shower and dressing. I'd often come back to the bathroom find him sound asleep.
They makes a great presents for new parent and you can often find them on sale at shops like Toys R Us.
