Design and Features

Food For Kids is a great website that gives you the information about foods made and marketed to kids that the manufacturers don’t.

It features an easy system for measuring the amount of fat, sugar and salt content various kids foods contain and a comment which puts the food in context with similar products in its food category.

There is also a helpful criteria page which lists the recommended nutritional needs of an average 8 year old so you can make your own comparisons.

Performance and Drawbacks

The website is easy to navigate and the measuring system is easy to understand with its little sad and smiley faces. You can make an assessment of the food with minimal effort.

The information is relevant and easy to understand and gives you a general criteria so that you can assess all your kids food.

The only drawback for this site is the limited number of products. I look forward to it expanding over time.

Conclusion

One of the most useful and easy to use sites on nutrition for kids.

Food For Kids also gives parents a voice in lobbying companies to provide more nutritionally balanced products for kids.
