Design and Features

Giimmo Magic Lights are little PVC animal shaped night lights which emit rotating soft kaleidoscope colours. They are powered by an AC charger, once charged they can be moved to any space.

They are available in many designs including panda, elephant, hedgehog, penguin, rabbit, squirrel, cat and so on.

Performance and Drawbacks

The soft colours of the magic lights make a great night-light. They light up a space without being overpowering and are a useful light to breastfeed by.

These lights are cute and make a nice addition to any nursery, they are also very appealing to toddlers but not suitable for them to play with. They should only be within the reach of babies and toddlers under strict supervision.

Our little toddler tester showed little interest in his hedgehog night light for a few weeks until he started to wake with night terrors. Only two days after having the Gimmo Magic Light on his bedside table he started to resettle himself in the night without crying. It has been love and a good nights sleep for the whole family ever since (with and without the light being on which is good because our tester didn't become reliant on it).

The downside of a toddler love affair is that it's very hard to keep toddler and night light apart.

For older children this night light is great for them to take to the loo if they have to make a night trip. Just one thing to keep in mind, the red colour does not glow as bright as the other colours so it may suddenly get a bit darker. Also the light may break if dropped so no tripping on the carpet or it's kaput.

The rechargeable battery has a limited life and you should follow the charging instructions to maximise it. It's recharged at the bottom and you can adjust their legs so that they sit or stand upright while charging. It's best to charge it every morning after it's had a hard days night.

Conclusion

If you are after a night light for your baby, a Giimmo Magic Light is a practical, fun and will be useful for years. Not to mention very effective in alleviating night time anxiety.

There is a design to appeal to every parent and child and they are widely available in baby boutiques. You can find your local stockist online at Western Bloc.
