Design and Features

The Lascal Kiddy Guard is a retractable child safety gate that rolls into a small cylinder when not in use. It is made from a length of strong mesh material which unrolls up to 130cms.

It has an alarm for attempted breakouts and it can be locked open and closed to prevent it being used as a toy.

Performance and Drawbacks

The big bonus of this gate is that it will fit across a very large or unusually shaped opening. When it's not in use it's hardly there.

The big bummer is that it can be difficult to install and you may need additional kits. It also takes a knack to open and close, especially with one hand and doesn't always roll up evenly.

Conclusion

Have a test run of the store display model before you buy, it would be an expensive mistake to make.

Gates are quite expensive, especially if you need a few, many of the larger baby shops regularly have store-wide 10% off sales. Stock up then.
