Design
The Maclaren Quest Sport is the typical Maclaren pram chassis with a sporty feel'n seat design. The seat is made from durable and fade resistant material and the chassis is lightweight brushed aluminum.
The Quest also comes in a less sporty Mod version.
Features
The pram has many features including a five point safety harness, comfortable padded handles, washable seats, four recline positions, viewing window, expandable leg rest and a shoulder strap for carrying.
It has a small basket, however, there is one other small pocket which is useful. The hood does not extend (but a bit further than other Maclaren models) far and if you spend a lot of time outdoors it may be wise to invest in a sun shade.
Performance
The Quest Sport rates highly for manageability. It has lockable swivel wheels which help it handle more difficult surfaces such as grass and gravel well but they are a bit on the smaller size, better for indoors than out. You can push this pram with one hand if needed and it goes up and down stairs well.
The fold has to be one of the best on the market. A true one handed fold that takes five seconds. The folded pram is small and will fit into the boot of a small car.
Drawbacks
The biggest complaint about the Quest Sport is the brakes. They can be hard to use, stick and brake which is not so great. In particular parents complain about them coming off on the bus; not so good for us public transport users. However, Maclaren has made some changes recently so hopefully this will reduce this problem.
The small under seat basket is also a drawback, it can be difficult to access when your baby is sleeping.
You should also be cautious that this pram can tip when empty.
Conclusion
The popularity of Maclaren prams speaks for itself. Look around on the street and you will see them everywhere.
There have been some concerns about the Quest Sport. You may want to check out some of the other Maclarens before purchasing this one, especially if you use public transport regularly.
