Design

The Techno XT looks pretty snazzy. The seat is made from durable and fade-resistant material and the chassis is lightweight brushed aluminum.

As is usual with umbrella prams it's small and nifty. The construction is sturdy and the components are well designed and made of quality materials. It comes with a charcoal seat on silver frame and more recently a black seat on black frame.

Features

The pram has many features including comfortable padded handles that adjust to three heights, washable seats, four recline positions including flat, suspension, a UV protected window, expendable leg rest, padded straps and headrest and a shoulder strap for carrying.

It has a small basket, however, there are two other small pockets which are useful. The hood has an extendable flap for extra coverage and there is an additional pocket on the back to store your treasure.

Performance

The Techno rates very highly for maneuverability. It has good sized lockable swivel wheels that help it handle more difficult surfaces such as grass and gravel well. You can push this pram with one hand if needed.

The seat is wide, offering more space for larger children but the pram itself is quite compact and fits into small spaces easily.

The fold has to be one of the best on the market. A true one handed fold that takes five seconds. The folded pram is small and will fit into the boot of a small car.

It has two foot pedal brakes which have to pushed on separately which is annoying but they are easy to use.

Drawbacks

The biggest complaint about the Techno is that the basket is too small. Some parents have been concerned that the pram seat is too large for an infant and that the harness is not designed for small babies. You should consider this before purchase.

You should also be cautious that this pram can tip when empty.

Conclusion

The popularity of Maclaren prams speaks for itself. Look around on the street and you will see them everywhere.

The Techno is a good choice, particularly with the warranty and extras, but in this price range you should also consider some of the comparable umbrella prams, including other Maclarens before you purchase.

Maclaren prams are often on special at the larger department stores and baby shops.
