Design

The Twin Techno double pram looks pretty snazzy and comes with grey seats on a silver frame and black seats on a black frame. The seats are made from durable and fade-resistant material and the chassis is lightweight brushed aluminum.

The components are well designed and made from quality materials. You can see the difference in quality between this pram and it's Maclaren rival, the Twin Triumph.

Features

The pram has many features including five point safety harnesses, washable seats, comfortable padded handles, four recline positions including flat, suspension, a UV protected window, expandable leg rests, matching boot covers, padded straps and headrests and a shoulder strap for carrying.

It has two small baskets which combined, make for plenty of storage space and there are two other small pockets in the hoods which are useful. The hoods do not extend far and if you spend a lot of time outdoors it may be wise to invest in a sun shade.

Performance

The Twin Techno rates very highly for manageability. It has lockable swivel wheels which help it handle more difficult surfaces. It fits through a standard doorway; however, you need to be careful not to get the front swivel wheels stuck.

The seats are a bit narrow which is what you would expect from a twin pram, you can't really get away from this unless you go long rather than wide.

The Twin Techno has Maclarens standard '5 second one-hand fold' which might be pushing the envelope a bit with the twin, but the fold is easy for a twin pram. The folded pram is small for a twin and will fit into the boot of a small car, however, you should check that it will fit into your car boot before purchase.

Drawbacks

Parents seem to be pretty happy with the Techno Twin. They are probably just happy to get out and about without too much hassle. Some complain that the under seat baskets are hard to get to when the seats are reclined and that the recline itself is fiddly but they seem to be pretty minor considering they are carting about two.

Conclusion

The popularity of Maclaren prams speaks for itself. Look around on the street and you will see them everywhere.

The Twin Techno is a great choice if you need a side by side pram. The ability to accommodate newborns is a big bonus.

Maclaren prams are often on special at the larger department stores and baby shops.
