Design

The Stokke Changing Table's curved design complements and co-ordinates with the Stokke Sleepi. It comes in the same timber finishes for a complete nursery look.

The shelves can be adjusted to different heights and as expected with Stokke, it features some clever little design elements such as the height of the bottom shelf allows plenty of room for your feet to fit underneath, so you can be closer to your baby. The large top also accommodates a baby for longer than your average change table.

For future use, Stokke Care can be turned into a small desk or can also be used as a practical bookshelf, a CD rack, or a TV table or a combination of them all.

Features

It consists of a timber frame, a firm foam mattress, two timber shelves, two storage tubs at the side, metal rails for hanging towels and four lockable castors at the base.

Fitted terry towelling covers for the mattress are practical as they are easily washed, but need to be purchased separately.

While it has the same light and airy look of the Sleepi, the unit is very solid and will take some pretty solid squirming and jumping from an active toddler.

Performance and Drawbacks

The Stokke Care Changing Table offers a solid and comfy place for a baby change.

It has nice high sides and the wide change top provides ample space for changing, however this space also provides room for the squirmy toddler to roll around during changes. As with any nappy changing activity it's very important to keep one hand on your baby while reaching for nappies, creams and other bits and bobs.

Investing in a few open top storage boxes to sit on the shelves is a good idea to keep everything tidy.

Conclusion

Some people believe change tables aren't necessary, however I'm pleased we invested in one, I don't even want to begin to think how much time I've spent at it over the past couple of years.

I'll admit I went for the Stokke simply because it co-ordinated with our cot. I've been really happy with it and wouldn't change a thing!
