Design and Features
Tahlia, You Can Do It! comes in a hard-back landscape format.
It’s best suited to a 3 to 6 year old audience; however, the story is easy to follow and will appeal to younger children as well.
Performance and Drawbacks
Tahlia's Poppy has a passion he wants to share with Tahlia, but she's a little scared. This is not surprising because it's motorbike riding.
So as smart Poppy's do, he introduces Tahlia step by step until she's confident enough to take on the toughest dirt track. She can do it!
Tahlia, You Can Do It! is written in a simple straight forward way that builds the story in a way that mirrors Tahlia's growth in confidence.
The illustrations by Jodi Blokkeerus are beautiful.
The one thing that detracts from Tahlia, You Can Do It! is the motorbike theme. I'd much prefer a bicycle theme or something that I'd like my little guy to aspire to.
Personally, I'm much happier with Tahlia being scared of motorbikes.
Conclusion
If you don't mind the motorbike theme, Tahlia, You Can Do It! is a great Aussie read that your child will enjoy and be inspired by.
It's not widely available, you can buy it directly from the author's web page.
