Design and Features
The Vespa & The Ladybird Post Pregnancy Belly Wrap is made from a large strip of stretchy polyester and Lycra fabric with a large velcro fastener.
It comes in small (pants size 6 - 8), medium (10 - 12) and large (14 - 16) in black.
Performance and Drawbacks
The Vespa & The Ladybird Post Pregnancy Wrap is very easy to use and will adjust to fit your diminishing pregnancy belly.
It's designed to flatten and firm your tummy, provide lower back and abdominal support, provide added support after a caesarean section, accelerated healing in abdominal separation, minimise water retention, promote good posture and boost self confidence.
What our testers said
One mum found that the Belly Wrap definitely helped with back pain and aches, she felt immediate relief when she put it on. She also found that her abdominal muscles healed quicker after her cesarean section than on previous occasions. She was happy that, in conjunction with exercise, it helped get her back to her pre-pregnancy shape.
Our other mum found the Vespa & The Ladybird wrap comfortable to wear walking around the house. She found the support after her caesarean section both comfortable and reassuring.
Both of our tester mums found it promoted good posture both while wearing it and afterwards.
Generally our tester mums found the wrap rigid, and uncomfortable after about an hour or so. Also they found it too black and bulky to wear out and about under their clothing.
One of our tester mums suggested that you buy on the larger size to ensure it fits straight after birth. Our other tester mum noted she couldn’t breastfeed while wearing the wrap.
Conclusion
The reality is that after giving birth everything under your neck is just tired and sore, and it stays that way for quite some time. Any product that provides relief to mums after birth and helps them gain their strength gets the thumbs up from Best Buys.
With a few design enhancements to improve comfort we'd say the Vespa & The Ladybird would benefit every new mum. Also I'm sure larger mums would welcome a larger size.
